The only way to save auto workers jobs – or minimally
their severance pay - is to occupy the factory,
as other Ontario workers have done. Ultimately, the
workers should own and run the plants themselves.
See http://mollymew.blogspot.com/ for information on
the CAW blockade.

Many thanks... without alternative sources such as yourself, I might not have heard about this. (At least not until I got my next issue of the IW, but that isn't a luxury everyone has.)
ReplyDeleteIn St. Paul, MN a Ford assembly Plant is closing. Some younger members of the local Communist Party, were expelled for advocating nationalizing the plant. The CP didn't want to be at odds with the Democratic Party.
ReplyDeleteThe mainstream media is (of course)trying to peddle the idea that low wage areas like China will produce cars for 5000 dollars and that will be the death of our industry. I suggest that anyone interested look at the kind of junk that China calls a "car". Testing facilities in Europe and Russia show that Chinese cars are poorly built and dangerous. Go to YouTube and check "chinese cars".
ReplyDeleteWerner's remarks highlight why the workers movement needs internationalism. Capitalist bosses are the same in China and in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog (actually both of your blogs look interesting). I came across it awhile back. I think at the time you were talking about anarchist groups in Venezuela. This was prior to the referendum? Maybe I remember wrong. I saw profile when you commented on Renegade Eye’s blog. I’m linking your blog on mine if you don’t mind.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Crooked. I have linked your blog to0. (And it looks good as well!)
