Thanks for the link, Larry. The more I think about it, the more it seems that the Kelo decision was a net benefit. Before Kelo, the kinds of skullduggery in that WSJ article were fairly common locally, and barely appeared on the radar screen of public perception. But Kelo, simply saying (correctly IMO) that it was an issue to be decided locally, drew so much attention and outrage that it became possible to shut down a lot of it at a state and local level.
