The Movement of Occupied Factories In Brazil

Not only is there a factory occupation/workers self-management movement in Argentina, but one also exists in Brazil. Here is the story of one such factory, occupied and run by its workers for the last five years, and now facing police oppression. See:

  1. Wonderful info.

We are giving a public showing of "the take" and some info on the factory occupation movement across the world at the public library in early June. If you know of any other info, it would be super awesome if you let me know.

    thanks!

  2. Our group in Brazil, was part of the Lambertist group. They connected with our Venezuelan comrades involved in the factory occupation movement. The Lambertist leadership reprimanded them for that. They will be in our tendency. We had no plans to recruit them. Their leadership was sectarian.

  3. Cool article. It's always nice to get an example of our ideas at work in the real world.

  4. Natasha, we definitely need more of these examples, and I will post them as they come along.
Ren, sectarianism is for losers. I know of no sect that has ever helped build a mass movement, but I know of lots of them that have helped undermine those movements.

  5. I did not know that this was occurring in Brazil as well. Good to know; I wish the best of them. (The Take is a great film, by the way, if any of you haven't seen it. You can buy it online and help out the workers in Argentina at the same time. Mutual aid in action!)
